The after-effects of COVID-19 are showing us that for some people, recovery doesn’t stop when the virus leaves the body. Many individuals are experiencing ongoing symptoms – fatigue, breathlessness, disturbed sleep, brain-fog and more  – well beyond the expected two-to-three week period. What’s particularly striking is that these symptoms aren’t restricted to those who had severe illness; even people with mild or almost asymptomatic initial infections are reporting long-term issues.

These persistent symptoms appear to stem from multiple factors: lingering inflammation, dysregulation of the immune system, influence on the nervous system (especially the autonomic nervous system), and in some cases damage to organs such as the heart or lungs.

This is where a gentle, integrative approach can be particularly helpful. Craniosacral therapy offers a non-invasive, deeply gentle way to support the body’s own healing mechanisms when conventional medicine is still catching up. In particular, by helping the nervous system find its way back into balance and supporting rest and recovery, the therapy becomes part of a broader “whole-person” healing strategy.

In craniosacral therapy sessions we hold space for the body to listen to itself, to slow down and for the nervous system to recalibrate.

You may find you’re more attuned to sensation, more aware of what your energy is doing, and gradually able to pace yourself in alignment with what your body can manage. And because recovery from long-COVID often benefits from lifestyle support such as nutrition, movement at the right pace, and emotional-trauma sensitive listening, we tailor our approach accordingly.

If you’re navigating chronic fatigue, or think you may have long-COVID symptoms, it’s important to recognise this may not be a situation that resolves in a single session or a quick fix. Real, lasting change –  improving fatigue, restoring nervous system balance, rebuilding resilience  – usually unfolds over a series of sessions. Each time we meet, the body builds a little more trust, a little more capacity, and the therapeutic space becomes a safe container for gradual change.

At Ashlins Natural Health we’re here to support you with craniosacral therapy, complementary holistic support, and a sensitive, paced approach as you journey through recovery.
