Counselling (Integrative Therapy)
Sometimes we face challenges or periods of change that rock our foundation often leaving us feeling vulnerable and isolated.
You may be struggling with your self-worth, lack self-confidence or feel stuck or at a crossroads in your life. Counselling can also be a means to explore different ways of coping with challenges and worries.
“I do not offer advice or solutions; my role is to assist you in gaining insight through listening and thoughtful interventions so you can try and come to terms with a situation, challenge or make a change.
My aim in working with you is to provide a reliable and consistent framework in which you can improve your awareness of yourself and your relationships, with a view to increase self-understanding and wellbeing.
I use an integrative approach which means I have an underlying theoretical foundation but incorporate techniques and skills from other theories which enables me to adapt to differing, individual, client needs.”
Pauline currently works in an acute NHS setting, teaches on a counselling course, manages her private practice and a mentoring service for trainee counsellors, is a co-founder of a community education/wellbeing project and a partner counsellor for a mental health charity.
She also has experience of working in a prison setting as a counsellor and mentor in further and higher education.
