What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy works on the basis that like is treated with like using highly diluted substances. These are usually given in tablet form.
When you first see a homeopath, they will take some time to discuss your symptoms, general health and lifestyle with you in order to build up a detailed picture of the problem. Based on this, they will prescribe a combination of remedies tailored to your needs.
Homeopathy was pioneered by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann over 200 years ago. It uses medicines, known as remedies, to complement conventional treatment.
The name homeopathy is derived from the Greek words ‘homoios’ (similar) and ‘pathos’ (suffering) and this reflects the underpinning philosophy of the Law of Similars.
Hahnemann discovered that treating a patient with a diluted form of a substance which would cause certain symptoms if they were otherwise well, would relieve these unwanted symptoms when they were unwell.
Homeopathy is a gentle, non-toxic and cost-effective system of health. It can be safely used alongside conventional medicine. Rita and Brenda are both members of the Society of Homeopaths. They are trained to the highest standard and work according to the Society’s high standard of ethics.
Homeopathy is ideal if you’re looking for a holistic approach to better wellbeing. Many people find it a useful addition to their self care routine.
