Diabetes can often lead to complications affecting your feet; in fact it is the leading cause of lower limb deformities and amputations.  With regular monitoring complications can be managed and reduced, helping you to stay healthy and active.

Uncontrolled diabetes affects your circulation and your nerves.  This can cause dry, thin skin, swollen feet and ankles, loss of sensation, weakened muscles and clawed feet.  Not only does this make walking very difficult, it can also lead to ulcers and pressure sores forming on your feet.  An infected ulcer combined with the suppressed immune system of a diabetic can quickly escalate into a serious health problem.  So you can see how important healthy feet are!

Your free diabetic foot check will take around 15 minutes.  You’ll need to fill in a brief form and remove your shoes and socks.  Our Podiatrist will then look at and feel your feet and ankles.  They’ll look at your skin and nails, test your muscles and check your nerves.

Based on these findings they’ll allocate a risk category and put together a management plan for you.  We recommend a check up every 6 months.

We’re proud and excited to be offering this service for free to all diabetics.  We believe it is an important community service which will benefit many of you.
